Poggio Al Tesoro

Poggio Al Tesoro is a wine estate in Bolgheri, where Marilisa Allegrini and her brother Walter arrived in 2001, and was founded on 29 April 2002. Walter died unexpectedly in 2003; Marilisa and her daughters, Caterina and Carlotta, carry forward the estate’s founding spirit and respect for the environment.

Its vineyards span four areas with distinct soils and climates, growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Vermentino clones from Corsica. Farming includes cover crops, selective and differentiated pruning, low yields and night harvesting. In the cellar, steel tanks are used for winemaking, while separate barrique spaces keep wines at different temperatures. Experiments with amphorae and terracotta vessels began during the 2016 harvest on selections of Solosole and Cassiopea. Its wines include Dedicato a Walter, a 100% Cabernet Franc dedicated by Marilisa to her late brother.
