Panizzi was founded in 1979, and Simone Niccolai succeeded Giovanni Panizzi as owner of the estate. After 10 years of work and experimentation, the estate's first Vernaccia di San Gimignano was released in 1989.

Located just outside the medieval walls of San Gimignano, the estate practices organic farming. Vines are tended by hand with very limited use of mechanical equipment, and no chemical fertilizers are used; soil fertility is enhanced with cover crops, residual crop biomass, and matured animal manure. Larniano holds the majority of the estate's vineyards with 31.50 hectares, while Pian dei Cerri in Seggiano encompasses 8.05 hectares of vineyards situated between 310 and 375 meters above sea level. Grapes grown include Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Pinot Nero.
On VinoVoss, Panizzi has 1 wine in stock: 1 red. Their average rating is 3.0 out of 5 from 1 rating.
