Overstone

Overstone’s vineyard and North Island winery are based near Hastings, Hawke's Bay, on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It maintains environmentally sustainable viticultural practices. Vineyards around the winery are planted on gravel deposits of an old river valley, while an inland vineyard site on a dry river gravel terrace 100 metres higher in altitude produces Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Its wines include Merlot-based red wines and Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough. Winemaking takes place at a facility designed to crush 2000 tonnes of fruit using both high-tech and traditional methods, with equipment including gentle air-bag presses, temperature-controlled tanks, open top red wine fermenters, and cool barrel cellars.
