In 1993, Terry and Mary Peabody set out to create the wine estate, and Craggy Range was founded in 1998. Terry Peabody is the Chairman and owner of the winery, which is governed by a 1,000-year family trust. The winery completed its first vintage in 1999 with Director David Peabody. Chief Winemaker Ben Tombs guided the 2024 release, marking the winery's 25th harvest.

The family-owned winery is situated beneath Te Mata Peak in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. Its 335 hectares of estate-grown vineyards are situated in Gimblett Gravels in Hawke's Bay and Te Muna Road in Martinborough. Craggy Range is transitioning to fully organic farming across all vineyard estates by 2030. Across all estates, diverse cover crops are planted between the vines, and a composting programme reuses all marc generated at both vineyard sites.
On VinoVoss, Craggy Range has 3 wines in stock: 2 red, 1 white. Their average rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 563 ratings.
