Mastrojanni is a wine producer in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, in the municipality of Montalcino, and has produced wine since 1975. Gabriele Mastrojanni acquired Poderi Loreto and San Pio, recognizing Sangiovese’s potential, and the first Mastrojanni bottle was produced in 1978. Maurizio Castelli became the winery’s winemaker in 1990, and the Illy Group acquired Mastrojanni in 2008.

Its vineyards include Pian della Casa, Costa Colonne, Schiena d’Asino, Ripi and Poggetto, while Vigna Loreto was planted in 2000 using a mass selection of eight Sangiovese clones from the estate. Herbicides have never been used, and no chemical products have been applied since November 2022. In the cellar, brushed and resin-coated concrete tanks serve for fermentation and storage, while aging takes place in large oak barrels holding 10–54 hectoliters and French tonneaux holding 5–7.5 hectoliters.
