Domaine François Carillon was founded in 2010. The family history traces back to the sixteenth century, with documents attesting to grape-growing and the life of Jean Carillon as early as 1520. In addition, the year 1611 was found engraved on a stone in one of the cellars of the estate. In the 1960s, Louis Carillon abandoned mixed farming and livestock in favor of near-exclusive Chardonnay cultivation. François Carillon managed the family estate vineyards starting in 1988 alongside his father and brother Jacques until 2010.

Located in Puligny-Montrachet in the Côte d’Or, the estate covers more than 16 hectares. Grape plantings consist of 90% Chardonnay, with the remainder shared equally between Pinot Noir and Aligoté. Its wines include four 2017 Premiers Crus: Champs-Gain, Folatières, Combettes, and Perrières.
