Duca di Salaparuta is a wine producer in Casteldaccia with a history dating to 1824. Giuseppe Alliata decided to make wine from grapes grown on his Casteldaccia holdings, and his son Edoardo developed his father’s passion into a family business. In 1984, the producer created Duca Enrico with oenologist Franco Giacosa, using Nero d’Avola alone. Illva Saronno Holding S.p.A. bought the company in May 2001. In 2003, a collaboration with oenologist Giacomo Tachis began a Pinot Nero project on Etna.

Its estates include Risignolo near Salemi, Vajasindi on Etna’s slopes and Suor Marchesa in Riesi, central Sicily. At Suor Marchesa, around five hectares of bush-trained vines supply grapes for Duca Enrico. Its wines include Duca Enrico and Bianca di Valguarnera.
On VinoVoss, Duca di Salaparuta has 6 wines in stock: 4 red, 2 white. Their average rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 86 ratings.
