Domaine Trapet is a wine estate in Gevrey, where Louis Trapet and Marie Raillard settled and bought their first parcel in 1859. Pierre-Arthur joined his father at the estate in 1887, while Louis joined his father in 1919 and managed it from 1940 to 1972. Jean began there in 1950, gradually taking charge in the 1960s. Jean-Louis joined his father in 1986, making his first cuvée entirely alone in 1990 and running the estate with his wife Andrée from that year.

The estate covers 18.5 hectares, including four hectares across three grands crus: Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Latricières-Chambertin. After eliminating herbicides throughout the estate in 1992, it began biodynamic trials in 1995. Its wines include the red A Minima, its first sulfur-free wine, produced in 1996. The entire estate converted to biodynamics and began Biodyvin and Demeter certification in 1997, followed by its first 100% whole-cluster vinification in 2003.
