Domaine Jaeger-Defaix is a wine estate in Rully. Hélène Jaeger-Defaix sought to continue the winegrowing tradition of her Niepce ancestors, who had been vinegrowers since the 16th century. In October 2002, she took over a first plot in Rully 1er cru Mont-Palais blanc from her great-aunt, Henriette Niepce. A second plot, in Rully 1er cru Préaux rouge, followed in November 2003, with the first harvest there in 2004. The takeover of the entire estate followed in early 2005. The estate covers 4.50 hectares across Rully premier cru vineyards. Domaine Jaeger-Defaix’s wines include a village-level red Rully, added to the range with the 2011 vintage.
