At the beginning of the 1990s, the owner of Colle Santa Mustiola committed full-time to winemaking and revitalizing the old family estate, starting with Poggio ai Chiari. To achieve this, the producer recovered estate vine material by reproducing selected Sangiovese vines from the old vineyards, and new vineyards were planted in 1992 to produce grapes for wine.

The winery is in Chiusi, a few tens of meters away from the Catacomb of Santa Mustiola and Etruscan tombs. The vineyards grow in the Colle di Santa Mustiola, near Chiusi and overlooking the Chiari mirrors of water. They are located between the historic center of Chiusi and its lake at 300 meters above sea level, with a northeast exposure and Pliocene soils. Its wines include three Sangiovese wines: Kernos, Vignaflavia, and Poggio ai Chiari. Vignaflavia is produced from a targeted selection of five clones and aged in large casks.
On VinoVoss, Colle Santa Mustiola has 2 wines in stock: 2 red. Their average rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 19 ratings.
