Chandon de Briailles is a wine estate with 12 crus in Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton, and has been family-owned since 1834. In 1989, the mother of Claude and François de Nicolay banned synthetic substances while managing the estate. The brother and sister followed her in managing the property.

The estate switched from organic to biodynamic viticulture in 2005, cultivating its 13.7 hectares biodynamically and obtaining Demeter certification in 2011. Four horses carry out all soil work, while lightweight tracked vehicles spray treatments without compacting the soil. In the cellar, Chardonnay grapes are crushed by hand before vertical pressing. Before bottling at the estate, wines are transferred to stainless steel tanks using inert gas pressure, without pumps.
