Castellare di Castellina is an estate in Chianti Classico, formed by Paolo Panerai through the union of four farms. These were Castellare, Caselle, San Niccolò and Le Case. The estate covers 80 hectares, including 20 of olive groves and 33 of vineyards on the hills of a southeast-facing natural amphitheatre, at an average altitude of 370 metres above sea level. Castellare uses no synthetic chemicals in its vineyards and created Chianti’s first experimental vineyard with the University of Milan, led by Professor Attilio Scienza, and the University of Florence for the first scientific selection of Sangiovese clones. In its winemaking, Castellare introduced barriques following careful studies and advice from Emile Peynaud, while its wines include one made using the governo alla toscana method.
On VinoVoss, Castellare has 4 wines in stock: 4 red. Their average rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 568 ratings.
