Carpineto was founded in 1967 in Dudda, within the municipality of Greve in Chianti. The winery was founded and continues to be managed by the Sacchet and Zaccheo families. Carpineto owns 500 hectares of land distributed across five estates in Tuscany: Dudda, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Gaville, and Gavorrano. These estates are located across historic Tuscan areas: Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Brunello di Montalcino, Alto Valdarno, and Maremma. Carpineto has more than 300 hectares of vineyards across Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, and Brunello di Montalcino, and a 2-hectare cru situated in Dudda, Greve in Chianti. The Montalcino estate reaches an altitude above 500 meters on galestro and clay soils. Carpineto is carbon positive, with its woods, olive groves, and vineyards absorbing 26% more carbon than emissions from its production processes. Its wines include Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, grown with 100% Sangiovese Grosso; Chianti Classico DOCG, made with Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and other red grape varieties; and Farnito Cabernet Sauvignon Toscana IGT, using 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
