CADE Estate Winery was founded in 2005 by John Conover, Gavin Newsom, and Gordon Getty. The estate land was originally planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in 2003. In 2006, the estate vineyard's first crop was harvested for the Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Construction on the 15,000 square-foot cave finished in January 2008. The estate became LEED Gold Certified in 2010. In October 2016, John Conover oversaw the purchase of the adjacent 82-acre 13th Vineyard.

The 54-acre estate sits 1,850 feet above sea level on the slopes of Howell Mountain. Twenty acres are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, and 5 acres are used for production and hospitality. The 13th Vineyard is planted with 74 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and 4 acres of Sauvignon Blanc. Farming methods include organic farming and fish-friendly farming, participation in Napa Green, and CCOF organic certification from 2009. Danielle Cyrot is the winemaker, and its wines include Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
