Barone di Serramarrocco

Barone di Serramarrocco is owned by Marco di Serramarrocco, a former Lloyd's broker who returned from England in 2001 to begin reorganizing the family estate. In 1624, King Philip IV of Spain and Sicily elevated Don Juan Antonio Marrocco y Orioles as the first Baron of Serramarrocco.

The estate covers approximately 60 hectares, with 22 hectares of high density vineyards, under the Vigna di Serramarrocco, Erice PDO appellation. Its wines use Pignatello, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Nero d'Avola, Grillo, and Zibibbo, which is vinified dry. Under-row cultivation is done mechanically without herbicides, combined with green pruning and hand harvesting.
