Wathervane Perfect Storm presents a deep garnet hue, indicative of its concentrated character. The bouquet unfurls with layers of blackcurrant, plum, and a hint of graphite, underscored by well-integrated oak nuances of cedar and vanilla. On the palate, this full-bodied wine showcases a robust structure, with firm tannins and a vibrant acidity that provides balance and length. Wathervane Perfect Storm is a red blend crafted from grapes grown in the cool, maritime-influenced climate of the Sonoma Coast. The vineyard's proximity to the Pacific Ocean provides a moderating effect, allowing for extended ripening and the development of complex flavors. The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve its vibrant fruit character, followed by aging in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barrels, which impart subtle spice and structure. This wine is designed to be approachable yet layered, offering a balanced expression of ripe fruit, integrated oak, and a smooth finish.
