This Te Mata Alma Pinot Noir is a remarkably complex and warming Pinot Noir from the Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand. It has an intense, ruby-red hue in the glass, with a vibrant nose of ripe raspberry, cherry, plum, cedar and spice. The palate is full-bodied and opulent, with ripe black cherry, earthy complexity, savoury tannins and a long, velvety finish. A wonderful expression of the variety, this wine is the perfect accompaniment to a variety of dishes.

Santhana
Intricate and layered wine with a concentrated history, but ultimately, it falls short of expectations. The initial sense is marred by an unbalanced blend of flavors, with the sweetness of the fruit overpowering the other notes. The oak and vanilla add depth, but it's a heavy-handed approach that overshadows the other components. The finish is long, but the in summary impact is one of frustration and disappointment. A wine that requires patience to fully appreciate.
Kasia
A fruit-forward and impressive New Zealand pinot noir, displaying the region's potential for this varietal. The nose features a luscious array of red fruits, containing cherries, raspberries, and strawberries, with a understated oak influence. The taste is well-balanced, with a refined consistency and a fulfilling finish.
Yass
A delightful and clean wine with a full bodied and layered character, showing a perfect integration of sweet and acidic notes, even as a soft smokiness and hint of oak add substance and nuance, making it a truly comforting experience.

Te Mata Alma Pinot Noir is praised for its luscious red fruit flavors, including cherries and plums, with a hint of oak and spice. While some find it well-balanced and full-bodied, others note an overpowering sweetness and a heavy-handed oak influence. The wine is generally seen as enjoyable and potentially age-worthy, though it occasionally falls short of expectations.
