Spookfontein Sauvignon Blanc 2024

Spookfontein Sauvignon Blanc is praised for its refreshing tropical fruit flavors, crisp acidity, and elegant minerality. While some appreciate its sophisticated and refined nature, others find it lacks complexity. The wine's light body and subtle aromatics, including notes of guava, melon, and citrus, are well-received, though a recent review criticized its nose as industrial. Overall, it's a delightful choice for warm weather.

This Sauvignon Blanc from Spookfontein presents a pale straw hue with a glint of green, indicative of its youthful vibrancy. The nose is a precise interplay of zesty lime and green apple, underscored by subtle notes of flint and freshly cut grass, hallmarking its cool-climate origins. On the palate, the wine is taut and linear, with a pronounced minerality that complements its brisk acidity. Layers of gooseberry and white peach unfold, leading to a clean, lingering finish with a whisper of saline. This wine exemplifies the elegance and precision of South African Sauvignon Blanc.
