This Syrah from Bassi Vineyard presents a deep, inky hue, indicative of its concentrated nature. The nose unfurls with layers of dark plum, black currant, and a whisper of cracked black pepper, underscored by hints of violet and earthy minerality. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet remarkably balanced, with velvety tannins and a vibrant acidity that elevates its core of ripe blackberry and savory olive tapenade. The finish is long and complex, echoing with nuances of smoked meat and a touch of graphite. A quintessential expression of coastal California Syrah, this wine is poised for both immediate enjoyment and graceful aging.

Scar Of The Sea Bassi Vineyard Syrah is crafted from grapes grown in the coastal climate of San Luis Obispo, where cool ocean breezes contribute to a long growing season. This Syrah is fermented with native yeasts and undergoes partial whole-cluster fermentation, enhancing its complexity. Aged in neutral oak barrels, the wine showcases a balance of fruit and savory notes, with a focus on purity and freshness. The result is a medium-bodied wine with structured tannins and a vibrant acidity, suitable for those who appreciate a nuanced and expressive Syrah.
