Displaying a luminous straw hue, the Santa Bárbara Chardonnay captivates with its aromatic bouquet of ripe Meyer lemon, white peach, and subtle honeysuckle, underscored by a whisper of flinty minerality. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious balance of vibrant acidity and creamy texture, showcasing layers of baked apple and toasted almond. The judicious use of oak imparts a delicate vanilla and spice complexity, enhancing the wine's depth without overshadowing its fruit purity. The finish is long and elegant, marked by a lingering citrus zest and a hint of saline, epitomizing the coastal influence of its terroir.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.

Santa Bárbara Chardonnay is crafted from grapes grown in the cool-climate vineyards of the Santa Bárbara County, where coastal breezes and fog contribute to a longer growing season. This Chardonnay is fermented in stainless steel to preserve its fresh fruit character, with a portion aged in French oak barrels to add subtle complexity. The wine showcases bright citrus and green apple notes, balanced by a hint of vanilla from the oak. Its crisp acidity and medium body make it an ideal choice for those seeking a refreshing yet nuanced white wine.
