Stellar North Carolina wine, revealing a unique blend of Tannat and Petite Verdot. The mouthfeel is silky smooth, with a gentle tactile quality that rests on the palate. A perfect pairing for red meat, primarily beef, but also easy on its own. I'm delighted with this local wine, featuring Tannat and Petite Verdot. This one is a bit more understated than the 2015 vintage, but it still delivers a rich, mellow feel with a refined mouthfeel. The nose reveals a blend of oak, elegant spice, and concentrated fruit, even as the tasting offers the Petit Verdot's gentle influence on the Tannat. The follow through is dark and fruity, with a suggestion of plum and blackberry. Overall, a well-balanced and satisfying wine.
