A luminous straw hue introduces the Rhys Vineyards Chardonnay, a wine of remarkable precision and depth. The bouquet unfurls with layers of Meyer lemon, white peach, and a whisper of honeysuckle, underscored by deftly integrated oak nuances of hazelnut and subtle spice. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious balance of vibrant acidity and a creamy texture, showcasing notes of ripe pear and mineral-laden chalk. The finish is long and elegant, with a saline edge that speaks to its cool-climate origins. This Chardonnay exemplifies the finesse and complexity characteristic of California's elite terroirs.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.

Rhys Vineyards Chardonnay is crafted from grapes grown in the cool, fog-laden climate of the Santa Cruz Mountains, where the Pacific Ocean's influence ensures a long growing season. The wine is fermented in French oak barrels, with a portion being new, to enhance its complexity and texture. This Chardonnay showcases a balance of ripe fruit flavors and vibrant acidity, reflecting its unique terroir. The winemaking approach emphasizes minimal intervention, allowing the vineyard's character to shine through. Ideal for those who appreciate a nuanced and elegant style of Chardonnay.
