Bold and textured wine with a long history, Symington's entry into the Douro Valley is a significant milestone. Grown in the Douro Valley, this wine is a blend of 52% Alicante Bouschet and 48% Syrah, aged for 11 months in 80% new French oak. The backbone is robust, with ripe tannins, while the oak integration is a work in progress.
Rheino
Thoughtful and charming gift from my brother, with a pleasant, refined quality that is not as dry as usual, yet still satisfying.
Sheeka Jungbum
Robust and full-bodied blend of Alicante Boucher and Syrah from Alentejo, with a dense and juicy texture, silky smoothness, and firm tannins, accompanied by spicy whispers that add intensity and complexity. A top notch deal for the price.

Quinta da Fonte Souto Vinha do Souto Tinto 2017 is praised for its robust and full-bodied character, featuring a blend of Alicante Bouschet and Syrah. It offers a dense, juicy texture with silky tannins and notes of plum, cassis, and vanilla. While some find the oak integration a work in progress, others appreciate its refined quality and potential for aging.
This distinguished red from the Alentejo region presents a deep garnet hue, immediately suggesting its concentration and depth. The nose is a complex tapestry of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and a hint of dried herbs, underscored by subtle earthy nuances. On the palate, it reveals a full-bodied structure with finely woven tannins and a vibrant acidity that provides balance and length. The mid-palate showcases layers of dark chocolate and a whisper of spice, leading to a long, elegant finish. This wine exemplifies the potential of Portuguese reds, offering both power and finesse.
