This Chardonnay presents a luminous straw hue, exuding a bouquet of ripe stone fruits, Meyer lemon, and a subtle hint of white florals, underscored by a deft touch of French oak. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious balance of creamy texture and vibrant acidity, with layers of nectarine, toasted almond, and a whisper of wet stone minerality. The wine's complexity is further enhanced by a lingering finish of citrus zest and a delicate saline note. Exemplifying the finesse of Oregon's terroir, this Chardonnay stands as a benchmark for elegance and precision in New World expressions.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.

Purple Hands Haakon Lenai Vineyard Chardonnay is crafted from grapes grown in the cool climate of Oregon's Willamette Valley, where the maritime influence ensures a long growing season. This Chardonnay is fermented in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak barrels, allowing the wine to retain its natural acidity while gaining subtle complexity. The result is a balanced wine with crisp apple and pear notes, complemented by a hint of minerality. Ideal for those who appreciate a fresh, fruit-forward style with a clean finish, this Chardonnay showcases the unique terroir of its vineyard origin.
