This Brunello di Montalcino from Poggio di Sotto is an exquisite Italian red. The nose is full of ripe red fruits, dried roses, and a hint of spice. The palate is bright and lively, showing sweet cherry, raspberry, and licorice flavors. The tannins are firm and balanced, adding structure to the long, lingering finish. Poggio di Sotto Brunello di Montalcino is praised for its rich, full-bodied character with notes of cherry, plum, and earthy undertones. Aged in Slavonian oak, it offers a smooth, velvety texture and well-integrated tannins. While some appreciate its complexity and elegance, others find it lacks a bit of structure. Ideal for special occasions, it pairs well with hearty dishes.
