What the web is saying

Marchesi di Barolo Ruvei Barbera d'Alba is praised for its rich, full-bodied profile with notes of cherry, blackberry, and vanilla. It offers a smooth, velvety texture and a well-balanced finish. While some appreciate its complexity and pairing versatility, others find it straightforward and lacking in depth. The wine's fruity and spicy character makes it a popular choice for pairing with Italian dishes.

Voss Experts3.8

This Marchesi di Barolo Ruvei Barbera d’Alba offers a bouquet of ripe dark cherry, ripe plum and raspberry, with an undercurrent of toasty oak and warm spice. Its palate is full-bodied and well-structured, with juicy cherry and ripe plum flavors, balanced by smooth tannins and notes of licorice and forest floor. The finish is long and lingering, with a touch of dried herbs. Enjoy this Barolo with roasted pork, grilled beef or wild mushrooms.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.
