Intense and complex wine with a deep, bold purple hue, complemented by a nuanced yet inviting aroma of forest floor, ripe fruit, and spices. The profile is shaped by a smooth cohesion of sweet and tart notes, with flavors of ripe raspberry, maraschino cherry, strawberry cranberry, and blackberry, all expertly integrated into a polished and gentle texture. Aged to perfection in old Burgundy casks, this wine has developed a rich, comforting character that is sure to please even the most discerning palates.

What the web is saying

Jean Foillard Morgon Côte du Py is celebrated for its rich, fruity profile with notes of raspberry, cherry, and earthy undertones. While many appreciate its smooth tannins and complex flavors, some find it overpriced. The wine's balance of sweet and tart notes, along with its aging potential, makes it a favorite among Beaujolais enthusiasts, though a few reviews mention a lack of intensity in certain vintages.

Voss Experts4.0

This Jean Foillard Morgon Côte du Py is a delightful and complex wine. On the nose, it has aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, and currants with hints of earthy minerals. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and smooth, with a rich balance of fruit, spice, and minerality. The finish is long and juicy, with a lingering note of dark cherry. This is a great expression of Gamay from the renowned Morgon terroir. Enjoy this wine now or cellar it for a few years to allow the flavors to fully develop.
