Deep and full-bodied wine with a dark color and a light, fruity nose, but with a middle weight that is seamless by a decadent and full flavor. However, it is a classic style of Barbera that is also quite acidic, which may be a turn-off for some drinkers. Despite its quality and maturity, the tanginess is too pronounced, which detracts from the in summary experience. The ABV is 14%, and even as it is a good quality wine, it falls short of being exceptional due to the unbalanced brightness and structure. Overall, I would give it a rating of 3.6/5 stars.

What the web is saying

I Carpini Bruma d'Autunno Barbera Superiore is praised for its full-bodied and fruity character, making it suitable for everyday drinking. While some appreciate its classic Barbera style, others find its pronounced acidity and unbalanced brightness detract from the experience. Voss Experts4.5

This Barbera Superiore presents a deep ruby hue, indicative of its concentrated nature. The nose is a sophisticated blend of ripe black cherry, plum, and subtle hints of dried herbs, underscored by a whisper of vanilla from oak aging. On the palate, it reveals a robust structure with vibrant acidity that is quintessential to Barbera, balancing the wine's rich fruit core. The tannins are finely grained, providing a velvety texture that leads to a lingering finish with notes of dark chocolate and a touch of earthy minerality. This wine exemplifies the elegance and depth of Piedmont's terroir.
