I enjoy. The 2020 release is smooth.

Lush blend of spices adds a considerable boost to this wine, but the dominant structure of pepper and spices overshadows its nuanced character.

Detailed wine with a rich, earthy character, but a lingering, pungent note that disrupts the harmony, and a preference for a certain level of tannin that may be present, even if it's not fully developed. The nose is influenced by by opaque fruit, damp soil, and a note of leather, with a smooth, round grip and a linger that lingers, leaving a subtle, savory, and umami impression.

What the web is saying

Heartland Spice Trader Shiraz is noted for its lush blend of spices and pepper, which some find overpowering, overshadowing its nuanced character. While some appreciate the rich, earthy notes and smooth texture, others mention a lingering pungent note. Deep berries and an elegant pepper kick add complexity, though tannins may not be fully developed. The 2020 release is particularly smooth.

Voss Experts4.5

This Shiraz presents a deep, inky hue, indicative of its robust character. The nose is an intricate tapestry of ripe blackberries, dark plums, and a hint of cracked black pepper, underscored by subtle nuances of anise and cedar. On the palate, it unfolds with a full-bodied richness, where velvety tannins and a vibrant acidity create a harmonious balance. The mid-palate reveals layers of dark chocolate and a whisper of dried herbs, leading to a long, spicy finish. This wine exemplifies the quintessential boldness and complexity of South Australian Shiraz, offering both immediate appeal and aging potential.
