Heartland produced its first vintage in 2001, grown with Scott Collett, Grant Tilbrook, and Nick Keukenmeester. Nick Keukenmeester is an owner and Managing Director of Heartland. Ben Glaetzer is an owner and the winemaker, making Heartland wines at Barossa Vintners in Tanunda, South Australia, some 100 kilometres from Langhorne Creek.

Heartland sources all of its fruit exclusively from Langhorne Creek and makes mainly red wines. Heartland's vineyard in Langhorne Creek is involved in reintroducing native trees, grasses, and bushes. In addition, goats have been introduced into the vineyard to enrich the soil naturally and suppress grass and weeds. Water controls are implemented to restrict water usage and tailor irrigation to individual grape varieties. Solar panels are utilized to minimize the carbon footprint, and the winery is gravity-fed to avoid harsh pumping of grapes and juice.
On VinoVoss, Heartland has 2 wines in stock: 2 red. Their average rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 8 ratings.
