Acquired this wine from the winery in October '22. It's a rich, full-bodied blend featuring blackberry, oak, and leather notes.

Nosso Aublet

Rich, oaky wine with a sweet and creamy texture, but lacking in fruit and complexity. at the same time it may improve with time, it's currently unbalanced and overpowered by oak. A disappointing entry from this winery, but one that warrants further exploration. A 2-star rating is a fair reflection of its current state.

What the web is saying

Halter Ranch Syrah is praised for its rich, full-bodied profile with flavors of blackberry, plum, and oak. Many appreciate its complex, layered character and smooth finish, while some find it overpowered by oak and lacking in fruit complexity. The wine often features notes of leather, pepper, and forest floor, offering a robust and gratifying experience. Opinions vary on balance, with some vintages needing more time to mature.

Voss Experts4.5

This Halter Ranch Syrah has an inviting nose of ripe plum, blackberry, and baking spices. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, with a velvety texture and a long, juicy finish. Notes of black cherry, blackberry, and blueberry mingle with hints of white pepper and forest floor, while a touch of oak adds complexity. Balanced, with a lingering finish, this is a great example of a classic Central Coast Syrah.
