Rich, evolved aromas with a deep, smooth texture, featuring whispers of oak, vanilla, and tobacco, highlighted by layers of forest floor and a delicate sweetness of chocolate, smooth by a delightful freshness of cherry, blackberry, and plum, with a lingering trail of red fruit.

What the web is saying

Hacienda López de Haro Gran Reserva is praised for its rich, full-bodied profile with notes of oak, vanilla, and forest floor. Many appreciate its smooth texture and balanced tannins, while some find it overly oaky. The wine's earthy and fruity undertones, featuring cherry, blackberry, and plum, are well-received. It's considered a good value, though not universally exceptional, with some preferring younger vintages for their freshness.

Voss Experts4.5

A quintessential expression of Rioja, this Gran Reserva reveals a deep garnet hue with a brick rim, indicative of its maturity. The bouquet is a symphony of dried cherry, forest floor leaf, and cedar, underpinned by nuances of leather and sweet spice. On the palate, it offers a seamless integration of velvety tannins and vibrant acidity, creating a well-structured and harmonious profile. The flavors echo the nose, with additional layers of dark chocolate and roasted coffee bean. The finish is long and elegant, marked by a persistent minerality. This wine exemplifies the classic style of aged Rioja, perfect for immediate enjoyment or further aging.
