I'm thoroughly unimpressed by the licorice flavor, but this wine is a revelation.

Rich, full-bodied red wine with a deep, opaque colour. The nose is intense, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, black plum, butter, coffee, prune, and vanilla. The flavor is dry, with a high level of acidity, tannins, and alcohol, and a rich, full-bodied texture. The finale is long and satisfying.

What the web is saying

Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz is praised for its rich, full-bodied profile with deep fruit flavors like blackberry, plum, and cherry. It features well-integrated tannins and a smooth finish. While some appreciate its complexity and spice notes, others find the licorice flavor off-putting. The wine's high alcohol content and bold character make it a favorite for hearty meals, though some suggest it benefits from aging.

Voss Experts4.0

This smooth and powerful Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz is a testament to the power of the Barossa Valley. On the nose, it offers a heady mix of ripe plum, raspberry, and blackberry aromas, accented by notes of vanilla, exotic spice, and flinty oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a velvety texture, succulent fruit flavors, and a long, lush finish. Its tannins are well-integrated, and its balance is impeccable. An overall outstanding expression of Shiraz, this wine is sure to satisfy.
