Giacomo Fenocchio Freisa Langhe is praised for its well-balanced structure, vibrant fruit flavors like cherry and raspberry, and a pleasing complexity. While some find its tannins robust and its acidity overpowering, others appreciate its rustic charm and smooth finish. The wine's earthy undertones and subtle bitterness add depth, making it versatile for pairing with various dishes.
Exhibiting a deep ruby hue, the Giacomo Fenocchio Freisa Langhe opens with an aromatic bouquet of ripe red cherries, wild strawberries, and a hint of dried herbs. The palate is medium-bodied, showcasing a vibrant acidity that seamlessly integrates with its fine-grained tannins. Layers of red currant and subtle earthy undertones add complexity, while a whisper of white pepper provides an intriguing finish. This wine exemplifies the quintessential characteristics of Freisa from the Langhe region, offering a balance of freshness and rustic charm that is both approachable and sophisticated. Best enjoyed now, it pairs beautifully with hearty Italian fare.
