Francis Blanchet Pouilly-Fumé Calcite is praised for its harmonious blend of citrus, stone fruit, and mineral notes. While many appreciate its refreshing and vibrant character, some find it unbalanced. Commonly noted are its crisp finish, subtle floral and herbaceous flavors, and a smooth texture, making it a versatile choice for various occasions.
This Pouilly-Fumé presents a luminous pale straw hue, indicative of its vibrant character. The nose is a precise interplay of flinty minerality and citrus zest, underscored by subtle white floral nuances. On the palate, it reveals a taut structure with a pronounced acidity that elegantly frames the core of green apple and grapefruit flavors. The wine's texture is finely grained, offering a chalky mouthfeel that is both refreshing and persistent. The finish is long and mineral-driven, showcasing the quintessential Loire Valley terroir. This wine exemplifies the classic style of Pouilly-Fumé, making it a benchmark for the region.
