Suyeol
Somewhat insatiable desire to sensation a $35 meursault, I suppose, may be misplaced. This wine was remarkably dry and lacking in fruit, with an overwhelming minerality that I've come to associate with 2015 Burgundies. Perhaps this vintage simply requires time to mature, or maybe the winemaker's vision is simply not aligned with my own. I return.

Eric Boigelot Meursault 'Les Clous' receives praise for its vibrant crispness, fresh notes, and honeyed richness in recent vintages, though some find older vintages overly dry with dominant minerality. While enthusiasts celebrate its Burgundian character, others note a stark dryness that may require extended aging.
This Meursault 'Les Clous' unfurls with a luminous straw hue, revealing a bouquet of ripe orchard fruits, notably golden apple and pear, intertwined with subtle nuances of hazelnut and a whisper of flinty minerality. The palate is a masterclass in balance, showcasing a creamy texture deftly countered by vibrant acidity. Layers of lemon curd and a hint of brioche emerge, underscored by a persistent, saline finish. This wine exemplifies the finesse and depth characteristic of Meursault, offering a compelling expression of terroir and craftsmanship that will reward both immediate enjoyment and short-term cellaring.
