DuMOL Estate Chardonnay is praised for its rich, layered flavors of citrus, stone fruit, and apple, with a creamy, buttery texture. While some appreciate its smooth, velvety finish, others note a sharp tanginess. The oak influence is subtle yet adds complexity. This wine is versatile, pairing well with cheese and sophisticated gatherings, though some find it slightly too tangy.
The 2021 DuMOL Estate Chardonnay presents a luminous straw hue, offering an aromatic tapestry of Meyer lemon zest, white peach, and honeysuckle, underscored by subtle notes of flint and hazelnut from judicious oak aging. The palate is a masterclass in balance, with a creamy texture seamlessly integrated with vibrant acidity, providing lift and precision. Layers of ripe pear and nectarine unfold, complemented by a whisper of saline minerality that enhances the wine's complexity. The finish is long and resonant, with a lingering impression of citrus blossom and almond. This Chardonnay exemplifies the finesse and elegance of Sonoma Coast terroir.
