Balazd
I'm thoroughly enamored with this Galician producer, and their 2011 Godello/Albarino blend is a standout. The subtle nose is a perfect foil to the ripe, rich white fruit, with a suggestion of floral and mineral undertones. As the wine unfolds, it reveals a full-bodied, intense character, with remarkable brightness and a long, satisfying lasting impression that's bursting with fruit and elegance. The style is evocative of Burgundy, and I find it to be a masterful interpretation of Galician winemaking.
