Domaine de la Cras Bourgogne Blanc 2024

Domaine de la Cras Bourgogne Blanc receives mixed reviews. Some praise its bright citrus and mineral notes, refreshing acidity, and elegant finish, especially in the 2020 vintage. Others criticize the 2018 vintage for its chemical aftertaste and lack of cohesion. While some enjoy its unique terroir and complexity, others find it one-dimensional. It's a wine that divides opinion, with both admirers and detractors.

This Bourgogne Blanc presents a luminous straw hue, inviting exploration into its aromatic depth. The nose is an intricate tapestry of ripe orchard fruits—pear and golden apple—interwoven with subtle notes of white blossom and a whisper of flint. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious balance of vibrant acidity and a creamy texture, underscored by a mineral backbone that speaks to its Burgundian terroir. The finish is elegantly prolonged, with nuances of citrus zest and a hint of almond. This wine exemplifies the finesse and precision characteristic of well-crafted Burgundy whites, offering both immediate appeal and potential for short-term cellaring.
