Crocus Le Calcifére Malbec de Cahors is praised for its rich, full-bodied character and velvety texture, with flavors of blackberry, plum, and raspberry. Many appreciate its smooth tannins and long finish, while some note a subtle earthy or flinty undertone. The wine pairs well with meats and cheeses. While some find it a great value, others feel the price could be high in certain markets.
This Malbec from Cahors presents a deep, inky hue, indicative of its robust nature. On the nose, it reveals an intricate bouquet of blackcurrant, plum, and graphite, underscored by subtle hints of violets and forest floor. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with firm tannins that provide a solid backbone. Flavors of ripe blackberry and dark chocolate are interwoven with a mineral edge, reflecting the limestone-rich terroir. The wine's acidity is well-balanced, leading to a long, savory finish with echoes of black pepper and cedar. A quintessential expression of Cahors, this wine promises both immediate pleasure and potential for aging.
