Humble wine from France, with a smooth and balanced taste that left a lasting impression.

Dry, unapologetically full-bodied red wine with a rich, soft texture, its strong tannins lingering long after the finish. The wine's flavor profile is featured by the mild yet pronounced nuances of plum and cherry, evoking a sense of depth and complexity.

Emilina

A light and polished wine with a dry and mellow character, featuring tobacco and cocoa whispers that unfold gradually.

What the web is saying

Château de Gaudou Puro Malbec is praised for its smooth, balanced taste and rich fruit profile, featuring plum, cherry, and dark berries. While some find it full-bodied with strong tannins, others appreciate its mellow, easy-drinking nature. Descriptors like forest floor, cocoa, and a barnyard quality add complexity, though some note a lack of nuance. Overall, it's a solid choice for both casual and discerning wine drinkers.

Voss Experts4.5

This Cahors Malbec presents a deep, inky purple hue, indicative of its concentrated nature. The bouquet unfolds with layers of blackcurrant, ripe plum, and a hint of violet, underscored by subtle notes of graphite and dark chocolate. On the palate, it reveals a robust structure with firm, yet polished tannins and a vibrant acidity that provides a refreshing counterpoint to the wine's rich fruit core. The finish is long and complex, with echoes of black pepper and a mineral edge, showcasing the wine's terroir-driven character and potential for aging. A quintessential expression of Malbec from its ancestral home.
