Nixie
Decadent and evolved wine with a deep, plush texture, paired by a multitude of flavors, accompanied by ripe black cherries, garrique, and dried herbs, which are expertly polished by sweet spices, pepper, and a hint of vanilla. The palate is full-bodied, with a silky finish, as the tannins are ripe and supple, leaving a lingering effect of excellent brightness and minerality. A truly fantastic wine, worthy of 95 points.

Crazy good, perfect to meet

10-year-old wine from my cellar, which I had to refresh. The label had become discolored, but the wine itself remained unchanged. The cork was still in excellent condition. After decanting, the aroma was exceptional, with flavors of cherry, blueberry, plum, graphite, cedar, garrigue, and pepper. The tannins were steady and well-integrated. I was reluctant to ending the bottle, but ultimately did so. The wine's quality remained unchanged, with a score of 97/100 and a 99/100 from Wine Spectator.

Clos du Caillou's Châteauneuf-du-Pape receives consistent praise for its full-bodied richness, silky tannins, and complex aromas of dark fruits, spices, and garrigue. While most highlight its aging potential and elegant structure, a few note occasional overripeness or unmet expectations for high scores. Reviews emphasize its layered flavors of plum, cherry, pepper, and mineral notes, with a lingering finish that rewards patience.
Pouring a luscious mahogany color, Galant des Abbesses entices the senses with a highly aromatic bouquet. It exudes rich aromas of dried fruits like figs, raisins, and dates, melding with captivating notes of toffee, spices, and a hint of orange peel. The palate is a velvety tapestry of complex flavors, including dried cherries, spiced plums, caramel, and traces of nutmeg and cinnamon. This fortified wine strikes a remarkable balance between sweetness and acidity, leading to a finish that is both long and rewarding. Touches of chocolate and a subtle warmth from the Marc du Jura linger on the palate, making Jean Bourdy's Galant des Abbesses a memorable, indulgent experience.
