Rich, supple wine with a deep, deep color, somewhat obscured by a lack of filtration. It's a bit more subdued than I had anticipated, with a moderate perfume that demonstrates a detailed array of aromas, accompanied by blackcurrant, cassis, bell pepper, blackberry, black plum, vanilla, baking spice, violet, cedar, and a suggestion of sweetness. The mid-palate is shaped by a smooth, rounded texture, during the aftertaste is long and satisfying, with a delicate trace of oakiness.
