Worapon Ferrise

Layered and engaging wine with a rich, inky color. The aroma is dominated by the strong, pungent scent of opaque berries and a accent of bitter orange. The impression is full-bodied, but the stability is lacking, with an uneven body that detracts from the ultimately experience. The follow through is long and lingering, but the trail is marred by a sense of discord. I would not recommend this wine to anyone searching for a well blended pairing. The price is excessively high for this wine, and I would advise against pairing it with mild foods like pasta or pawns. Instead, I would recommend pairing it with solid red meats or a strong, full-bodied cigar. I give it 3.4 out of 5 stars.

Delicate and consistent wine with a bracing crispness and a deep, full bodied color - a very good value.

Dry and earthy dryness dominates the palate, with a hint of dried fruit.

What the web is saying

Ceraudo Petraro offers a bold, full-bodied experience with complex notes of dark fruit, spices, and oak. While praised for its robust character and good value by some, others criticize its uneven body stability and high price. The wine shows aging potential with nuanced earthy tones and smooth tannins, though pairings require strong flavors like red meats to balance its intensity.

Voss Experts4.5

Ceraudo Petraro presents a deep garnet hue, indicative of its robust character. The bouquet unfolds with layers of ripe black cherry, dried fig, and a hint of leather, underscored by a subtle minerality. On the palate, it reveals a full-bodied structure with velvety tannins and a vibrant acidity that provides balance and lift. The mid-palate is enriched with notes of dark chocolate and a whisper of Mediterranean herbs, leading to a long, harmonious finish. This wine exemplifies the elegance and complexity of Calabria's terroir, offering a compelling expression that rewards both immediate enjoyment and short-term cellaring.
