This Bourgogne Aligoté presents a pale straw hue with a glint of green, indicative of its youthful vibrancy. The nose is a precise interplay of green apple, lemon zest, and a subtle hint of white blossom, underscored by a mineral edge that speaks to its terroir. On the palate, it is linear and focused, with a lively acidity that propels flavors of citrus and wet stone, culminating in a crisp, saline finish. This wine exemplifies the varietal's potential for elegance and finesse, making it a quintessential expression of Burgundy's lesser-known grape.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.

Cave de Bissey Le Clos d'Augustin Bourgogne Aligoté is crafted from the Aligoté grape, grown in the renowned Burgundy region of France. The vineyard benefits from a continental climate, with warm summers and cool winters, ideal for maintaining acidity and freshness. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the grape's natural crispness and bright fruit character. This style of Aligoté is intended to be enjoyed young, offering a vibrant expression with notes of green apple and citrus, supported by a refreshing acidity that makes it a versatile choice for pairing with a variety of dishes.
