What the web is saying

Catena Zapata Nicolás Catena Zapata is praised for its rich, full-bodied character, with notes of dark fruit, oak, and chocolate. Many appreciate its smooth, velvety texture and complex flavor profile. While some find it luxurious and refined, others note a lack of maturity in younger vintages. The wine pairs well with hearty meats and offers a satisfying, long finish, making it a favorite among enthusiasts.

Voss Experts4.8

This Catena Zapata Nicolás Catena Zapata offers a nose of blackberry, dark cherry, and blueberry, along with hints of baking spices, coffee, and toasted oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied and dense, with ripe, velvety tannins and a long, lingering finish. A complex and powerful wine, it is an excellent expression of the Malbec grape in Mendoza, Argentina.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.
