This Castellare Chianti Classico Riserva Il Poggiale is a powerful expression of the Sangiovese grape. On the nose, this wine reveals intense aromas of wild berries, spices, and a hint of leather. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-balanced, with ripe red fruit flavors, and a firm yet supple tannic structure. The finish is long and lingering, with notes of spices and earth. Overall, this is an excellent expression of the Chianti Classico appellation, and a wine that will benefit from several years of careful cellaring.
