Detailed fragrance with a sweet and fruity nose, featuring vanilla, wild strawberry, and cherry notes, but the tongue is somewhat one-dimensional, with a heavy jamminess that dominates the experience, making it neither especially compelling nor notably off-putting.

What the web is saying

Avennia Lydian GSM is appreciated for its sweet, fruity nose with notes of vanilla, wild strawberry, and cherry. While some find it well-balanced and delicious with opulent flavors, others note a heavy jamminess that can dominate the palate. The wine is bold and spicy, making it a recommended choice for those who enjoy a fruit-forward experience.

Voss Experts4.5

Avennia's Lydian GSM presents a deep garnet hue, indicative of its Rhône-inspired lineage. The bouquet unfurls with a harmonious blend of ripe blackberries, violets, and subtle garrigue, underscored by hints of cracked pepper and anise. On the palate, it reveals a medium to full-bodied structure, with supple tannins and a vibrant acidity that provides lift and balance. The interplay of Grenache's fruit-forward charm, Syrah's spice, and Mourvèdre's earthy depth culminates in a long, savory finish. This wine exemplifies the finesse and complexity of a well-crafted GSM, making it a compelling choice for both immediate enjoyment and short-term cellaring.
