Savagnin
Intense and intricate wine with a mid citrus yellow hue, elevated by a mid nose of citrus and golden apple. The mouthfeel is shaped by a fine woody note with butter and vanilla, but the tail is long and satisfying, with a mid+ body and a mid taste that is rounded by a mix of citrus, ripe apple, and other flavors.

I'm delighted that the Wine Society has expanded their Aslina range, and I'm excited to try my first white from Ntsiki. The nose is distinguished by a rich, buttery, and toasty aroma, with accents of citrus and a delicate popcorn note. The flavours are well-balanced, featuring a mix of grapefruit and pineapple, with a round oak follow through that adds richness without overpowering the other notes.

Aslina Chardonnay is praised for its rich, buttery nose and balanced flavors of citrus, tropical fruits, and oak. While some appreciate its creamy texture and smooth finish, others note its vibrant and zesty character. The oak aging adds complexity without overpowering, and the wine's versatility makes it suitable for various pairings. However, a few suggest it could develop further with time.
Displaying a luminous straw hue, the Aslina Chardonnay opens with an enticing bouquet of ripe stone fruits, notably peach and apricot, intertwined with subtle nuances of toasted almond and a whisper of flinty minerality. On the palate, the wine reveals a harmonious balance of creamy texture and vibrant acidity, showcasing layers of citrus zest and a hint of butterscotch. The finish is elegantly prolonged, with a delicate touch of oak spice that underscores its refined complexity. This Chardonnay exemplifies the finesse and precision of South African winemaking, offering both immediate appeal and potential for further development.
