Anko Malbec 2023

Anko Malbec receives praise for its rich, full-bodied character with recurring notes of dark fruit, plum, and oak, complemented by smooth tannins and a lingering finish. While many appreciate its complex earthy undertones and balanced structure, some find the body unfulfilling or note peppery sharpness. Opinions vary on sophistication - from 'intricate' to 'straightforward' - but it consistently delivers good value at its price point.

A deep, inky hue introduces this quintessential Argentinian Malbec, with a bouquet that unfolds layers of ripe blackberries, plum compote, and a hint of violet. On the palate, it reveals a robust structure, with velvety tannins and a core of dark fruit that is deftly balanced by a vibrant acidity. Subtle nuances of dark chocolate and a whisper of spice add complexity, leading to a long, polished finish. This wine exemplifies the high-altitude terroir of Salta, offering a refined expression that is both powerful and elegant, suitable for immediate enjoyment or short-term cellaring.
